Baroness Massey of Darwen used this website and consultation activities to invite children and young people to share their ideas for a report to the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Social Affairs Committee.

The report was called Listening to the Voice of Every Child: Promoting Child Participation as a Foundation for Democratic Societies

As part of the consultation, she asked for examples of child participation in parliaments or other democratic organisations, such local authorities etc. She also asked for advice on what needed to happen next.

Some of this advice and ideas from children and young people was included in her report. This influenced a resolution by PACE (the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) and created a new recommendation that you can use to help argue for children being included in democratic processes.
